In the metro the three options are close in price and the difference is comfort. From Dorado outward, a private driver costs the same or less than a taxi and is the only option that reliably reaches the west coast.
Where each option picks you up at SJU
- Taxi: at the official taxi stand outside the arrivals exit (lower level). A Tourism Company dispatcher hands you a ticket with your zone and price before you get in. Do not take offers from drivers who approach you inside the terminal.
- Uber and rideshare: request the ride once you have your bags and walk to the marked rideshare pickup area. At SJU it has been on the departures level (upstairs); follow the signs or the app, because it moves.
- Private driver: waits at the arrivals exit with a sign with your name, or texts you on WhatsApp when you land and picks you up at the curb. With your flight number they track the real arrival.
Cash or card
